When it comes to location we’re very selective

What makes a Quest Apartment appealing is being comfortable in the knowledge that Quest takes away some of the headache of trying to find the right location. We leverage our national network, strong relationships with customers, and partners in the development community to identify areas where there is strong corporate demand for accommodation. For investors, it means you can choose from multiple investment locations, all carefully selected in high activity, high growth business centres. All Quest locations are selected with the long-term in mind, established in areas that will support a successful business and property investment for 25+ years. Our location selection process is forward looking, ensuring that we have a presence in strategically important markets ahead of time. Examples of our successes in this regard are too many to mention, but include locations such as Newmarket, Albany City, Invercargill – all now regarded as attractive and desirable locations.

What Quest looks for in a specific site

The Quest site selection process is well defined with a dedicated team who spend their time researching, qualifying and visiting each potential location.
Locations that are ultimately selected by Quest must fit within our strict criteria which are designed around the following:

  • Inherent strength in the economic fundamentals
  • Significant investment by public and private sector into local infrastructure, industry and commerce
  • Growing corporate activity and strategic importance to surrounding areas
  • Positive developments in the demographics of a location
  • High activity business centres

Our selection criteria are just as rigorous at the site level. Some of the factors that we consider important in the selection of an appropriate site are:

  • Direct street access and frontage.
  • Access to restaurants, cafe’s and grocery shopping, no more than 10 minute walk.
  • Access to entertainment or recreation facility, cinema, hotel/club/pub, gymnasium, beach, parks and shopping, no more than 10 minute walk.
  • Located within a 3km range of key economic drivers including commercial premises, business/industrial parks, education precincts, health precincts, intermodal transport hubs, retail, conference and major event centres.
  • Direct street access to car park. Guests should be able to drive into carpark directly or if not park (under cover) with easy access to the reception facility.
